DFM & ENGINEERING SUPPORT

Die Casting DFM — Designed for Sound, Repeatable Castings

Die casting molds run at 200–300 °C against molten alloy at 600 °C+, so fill, cooling and steel selection are decided before a single cut. Our engineers review every part for gateability, draft, wall balance and porosity risk before quoting.

Die Casting Mold DFM Analysis

Wall Thickness & Draft

0.8–1.5 mm thin walls for aluminum, down to 0.5 mm for zinc — with draft angles verified for clean ejection and minimal distortion.

Gating, Runner & Overflow Design

Balanced fill profile, overflow and venting layout to control porosity — validated in trial castings before delivery.

Cooling & Thermal Simulation

Conformal cooling channels where geometry allows, keeping die temperature stable for controlled solidification and cycle time.

Shrinkage & Tolerance Prediction

Alloy-specific shrink rates (0.5–0.7% for aluminum, 1.0–1.2% for zinc) compensated in the CAD model before machining.
